Corner Units

By Bruce Carls on Tue, 02 Jan 2018 at 10:06

Hi

I am living in a complex where some of the owners of corner units had erected walls to close off their corner units. they had taken common property for their private use thus increasing their PQ. This has been under discussion with the trustees and at the last AGM, a proposal was made that these owners must pay an additional sum towards their levies because of their increased PQ. We are in the process of obtaining the original plans of the complex as these units do not have closed patios because and the argument from these owners is that when they bought these units they were informed that the additional land was part of their units. What is the process that needs to be followed in order to ensure that there is fairness with regards to this issue.

Thanks and regards

Bruce

From your post it sounds as though these owners have turned their gardens into informal exclusive use areas by walling them in physically blocking others from accessing them.

PQ refers to the floor area of a unit, not gardens....Show More
