Good day. I have been waiting for over a year for permission to put a solar tube (skylight) from my bathroom through the common property ceiling (above my unit) with a little dome on the roof. I have been advised:

Any change to the common property (roof) there has to be a unanimous resolution, It will also mean that as it is in the roof you will be going through the ceiling which in turn will increase the living space. In order to obtain an unanimous resolution a special General meeting of all owners will need to be called and with the required quorum, agree and sign the resolution.

Is this correct ?

I thought that the Trustees only could approve.

Thank you

Perhaps the the BC should amend the conduct rules to include a list of permitted attachments to common property together with the conditions which apply to these new and existing attachments. This would require a special resolution.
