Chere
I need to know which procedures to follow in granting permission for an owner in a sectional title scheme when they want to add two rooms to their unit. And what needs to happen once permission from the trustees have been granted. Such as
1. Does all the owners or a percentage of the members have to agree to the alterations?
2. Does to PQ’s change?
3. Does the entire schemes plans need to be amended?
4. Who, what and how?
Looking forward to your response.

RE: Chere
Hi Chere,
You will have to follow section 24 of the ST Act.
It is available by clicking on "Browse the Library".
You must also have plans approved by your local authority.

Hi Chere!
Firstly - permission for extensions canot be granted by the trustees. A Special Resolution by the owners is required to approve a proposed extension....Show More
Yes, the extension of one unit will alter the PQs of all the units. And yes, the sectional plan for the scheme will be altered by the registeration of the extension.
The who, what and how is set out fully under Section 24 of the Sectional Titles Act, which is available in the Library section of this site.
