Geysers

By Ann Breckon on Thu, 02 Sep 2010 at 13:36

I recently had a geyser burst and when the plumbers went to replace it discovered that there are 2 geysers in a shaft on the roof and in order to get to mine they had to remove the first geyser, replace mine, and then replace the first geyser. The insurance company agreed to cover the cost to remove the first geyser as a once off and would amend their policy for any future claims. My question is whether the owner or the body corporate in future will be responsible for the cost of removing the first geyser as this will no longer be covered by the insurance company.

The owner has to maintain his geyser - this will include any cost incidental cost as well as the insurance excess (first deductible) of the claim.
