chairman job ?

By Len Klugman on Sun, 26 Feb 2012 at 11:05

What can we do if Chairman ignores the rules and new amendments... so he does what ever he wants.
The other trustees are 'maybe too old' to oppose him.
I read the new amendments and the minister signed end Sept 2011 and it says 'comes into effect
30 days later' thats 28 Oct 2011.
Some people say its not yet in force...?
Whats your idea of that.?

Remember that we cant get rid of him, as NOBODY
wants this job. the average age in this building of 74 flats in SP is about 75 - 80.

The amendments you mention are to the current STA (95 of 1986) and came into force on 28 October 2011 as stated in the GG.

Where the confusion comes in is that some people seem to think it has some thing to do with the Management Act which has been signed, but is not yet in operation. Then there are those who react to an article written by a MA which suggested that it only applies to schemes coming into being after the amendments - which is nonsense as there is nothing in the amendments to suggest this and as in the past ALL amendments apply to ALL schemes (both new and old)....Show More
